  • 2009. 12. Enacted Weather Industry Promotion Act Established KMIPA
  • 2013. 1. Designated KMIPA as a government organization
  • 2015. 1. Integrated specialized organization of research management as KMIPA
  • 2017. 6. Renamed as Korea Meteorological Institute(KMI)
Function and role
  • Survey, analyze the weather Industry market & utilization of collected information
  • Plan, evaluate and manage R&D project for promotion of weather Industry
  • Support establishment & management of weather business and collect, manage related information in this respect.
