Purpose of establishment The KoFONS supports the development of policies and institutions on nuclear and radiation safety, as well as planning and management of relevant research projects and international cooperation in order to establish foundation for nuclear and radiation safety

  • Nov. 2012 Establishment of Korea Radiation Safety Foundation(KORSAFE)
  • Jan. 2015 Designated as “Other public organization” by the Ministry of Economy and Finance
  • Nov. 2015 Name change to Korea Foundation of Nuclear Safety (KoFONS)
  • Dec. 2015 Preparation of legal basis for establishment of Korea Foundation of Nuclear Safety(KoFONS) under 「Nuclear Safety Act」
  • Mar. 2016 Preparation of legal basis for establishment of Korea Foundation of Nuclear Safety(KoFONS) (Enforcement of 「Nuclear Safety Act」 Amendment)
